Isabel Alcaide was found around 9 a.m. in the 0-100 block of Stevenson Street with a bullet wound, Springfield police said.
Police provided first aid until paramedics could rush her to Baystate Medical Center, where she later died.
Officers are investigating what led up to the shooting. No further details were provided.
Friends posted memorials to her on social media. One man posted on Facebook he was struggling to accept that Isabel was gone.
